What comprehensive insomnia care includes

Effective insomnia care is far more than a sleeping tablet. At Slumbr the pathway is:

  1. A free Sleep Pattern Assessment. A structured screening tool (not a diagnosis) that identifies which insomnia pattern your sleep most closely fits, and the safest next step.
  2. CBT-I first. Cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia is the first-line, most evidence-based treatment for chronic insomnia — rated ahead of medication in the major guidelines because it addresses the causes rather than just sedating you. We guide you through it or refer you for it.
  3. Targeted non-prescription support. Where appropriate, Schedule 0 sleep-support products matched to your pattern, to support healthy sleep alongside the behavioural work — not a substitute for it.
  4. A specialist consultation. A full assessment with a registered physician: sleep and medical history, medication review, screening for conditions that can mimic insomnia (such as low mood or sleep apnoea), and a written plan.
  5. Prescription medication where clinically appropriate. If it is indicated after your consultation, a physician can prescribe; the prescription is filled at a pharmacy to collect near you or have delivered to your home. Prescription medicine is never sold directly to the public.
  6. Follow-up. Reviewing how the plan is working and adjusting, refreshing, or safely stepping treatment down over time.

What needs an in-person clinic instead

Slumbr is the online option for insomnia. Some sleep problems need in-person testing — most commonly an overnight sleep study, where obstructive sleep apnoea is suspected. We screen for these and refer you to an in-person sleep laboratory when one is clinically indicated, rather than managing them online. Honest routing is part of comprehensive care.
